As a former public school teacher, administrator and college professor, I am aware of how difficult it is to locate educational resources that are both economical and within a reasonable amount of travel time. We are responding to the needs of today’s children learning about animals, food and fiber.

  • The Division of Wildlife - We are excited about our wildlife exhibit. The variety of animals will change at various times. Deer, raccoon, squirrels, porcupine and arctic foxes are all here awaiting your visit.
  • The Exotic Area - A collection of rare and exotic animals has been collected from all over the world. Our collection includes a Coati Mundi, a monkey, ring-tailed lemurs and a variety of brightly colored tropical birds, just to name a few. Quite a sight to see!
  • The Aviary - A collection of pheasant from all over the world has been brought for you to view. Four colors of pea fowl, partridge, quail and doves are on display.
  • The Hatchery - During spring we hatch a variety of eggs. Upon request, the student will learn about incubating eggs and how a hatchery is run.
  • The Araucana Story - We are breeders and exhibitors of the famous Araucana chickens. This unusual chicken is commonly known as the Easter Egg chicken because the egg shells vary in color from blue to green, olive and pink. Pamphlets about Araucanas are available upon request for the teacher.
  • The Gardens and Greenhouse - The flower and herb gardens are interesting to many. In the spring, we have fruit trees in bloom. We also have our own grape vineyard. Check out our pineapple plants as well as our banana, lemon and orange trees.
