In my mind, they are talking to you like you are a little kid or a dog. People used to call me that term from time to time, probably because I never had an “edge” to myself which I did not start to develop until about two years ago. (come on, do people with muscular builds, biker attire, very confident demeanors ever get called stupid names like that?)

You could call such people names like “poodle” in response. If they start getting mad you could say “Puppy want a milkbone?” in response. It might be worth carrying some milkbones just for that! hehehehe
“Whitey” is not condescending at all, IMO.

“Colored” is condescending, because that word sounds like being black is a disease or something.
Ryan’s post is especially enlightening. Here in Minnesota where faggy nice guys rule people aren’t motivated to confront people. Perhaps a bigger, busier city will help me to further bring out my inner a–hole. I’m kind of stagnant right now.
